Digital Text

Broadcasters wishing to provide teletext-like information services on digital platforms have a natural upgrade path in the PLASMA family. Content can be extracted from a teletext service and delivered as XML for automated production of a digital text service using the D-PLANET engine.

As digital services mature, they can be authored in a more generic multimedia format using Gold, from which a subset of the page content is extracted to create a teletext output automatically.

Even if PLASMA is not used to generate the teletext service, the SysMedia Teletext Broadcast Decoder can capture the pages off air, and pass them on for extraction of key payload information which is then delivered as XML data for republishing in other ways - for example as part of a digital text service, or for use on a website or mobile output.
