SKY

BSkyB produces a highly successful multiplatform digital text service on satellite and DTT from its base in Osterley, West London. Pages of editorial content and up-to-the-minute information from automated feeds provide compelling viewing along with a quarter-screen video image of the current channel.

Gold allows Sky to exploit its content commercially by the use of banners and full screen advertising. It also enables content areas to be automatically syndicated to other delivery platforms such as mobile phones.

"Sky has an unparalleled reputation when it comes to coverage of major sports events and it's vital that our company's digital teletext service, Sky Text, reflects that dedication to excellence.

"SysMedia's Plasma Gold system gives us the capability to shape, form, create, update and hone our teletext sports content with the minimum of technical intervention, allowing our journalists and editors to publish content at will, without the restrictions that often accompany the publication of content on other interactive media, such as web or wap sites.

"We've yet to find a CMS which does the job better!" - Verity Jowett. MD, Sky Text

StarHub

StarHub Singapore used Gold to produce an interactive World Cup experience including multi-camera views, statistics and a host of other exciting content. The whole presentation was put together in a couple of months.

SysMedia provided design and service build input to create the initial framework for the custom interactive application. Presentation had to be fast, clear and very easy for the viewer to use, as well as being almost fully automatic in operation, taking its input from standard XML data feeds.

A huge amount of data was made accessible to the viewer including team line-ups, half-time and full-time scores, statistics on ball possession, shots on- and off- target, corners, free kicks, fouls, group information, as well as fixture listings and telecast details.

RTÉ

RTÉ, Ireland's state broadcaster, uses Gold to manage its teletext service which is also published to its website, an award-winning WAP phone service and a new digital terrestrial output on MHEG.

RTÉ achieves this breadth of content delivery without the need for separate editorial teams because Gold allows content to be republished automatically to several different platforms at once.

VMMa

VMMa in Belgium had been running an extremely successful analogue teletext service for many years and wanted to extend the brand into the digital domain.

With carriage on the Telenet cable service and MHP as a target platform, Gold enables VMMa to produce and deliver multiplatform interactive services from one common content source.

VMMa also used Plasma Gold to produce the content for an 'enhanced' World Cup 2006 service, widely used by its viewing audience.

Teletext Ltd

As the world's largest and most successful commercial teletext operator, Teletext Ltd has a sophisticated content repository for delivery to multiple digital platforms.

Gold is used for local and remote content input from manual editing terminals, feeding information which is directed to multi-channel digital text as well as teletext services. This enables Teletext Ltd to satisfy the viewing public?s appetite for compelling, timely editorial content, alongside its highly successful holiday advertising business.

With its advanced content management features and integrated workflow, Plasma Gold has met Teletext Ltd's requirements when it comes to running information services 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

ARD

ARD has used SysMedia's PLASMA teletext system for some time, and has switched to using Gold as a Content Management System. This enables editors to create information in a generic form that can be re-used on multiple outputs.

Sophisticated scripts run in the system to handle the production of TV listings in page-ready format, and apart from teletext and mobile ARD is also working towards launching services on MHP.
